"I'll pray for you."

People often say this to me and I wonder if they actually do. Sorry, can't help it, but I am like a prayer-gatherer - I try to get prayers for Heather from anyone anywhere as many as I can. When people say they'll pray for me, I say, don't pray for me, can you pray double for Heather?

I try to collect as many prayers for her as I can.

I've been catching up on other's blogs that I missed from Thursday-Monday... and I missed soooo much! I am still catching up b/c a lot happened in those few days. I feel like in my comments the past couple days I've been saying "I'm praying for you" in most of them.

I just wanted to write quick to say - if your blog shows up in my blog list on the right hand side - I AM - EVERY night. Every night I go through that list and pray for everyone I know from the postings, might only know an initial, might be an assumed name, but God knows who they are.

One other person I'm currently asking for prayers for - my Al-Anon sponsor - she suffered a heart attack and when they did the quadruple by-pass surgery Monday one of the four (arteries?) got a crimp in it and they had to open her chest back up. She is still in intensive care and out of it, but anybody who has some room to pray would you pray for her and her husband? Obviously won't mention their names, but again - God knows who they are. Thanks!

  1. I have personally experienced the power of prayer. I WILL pray for your sponsor..and Heather. I still remember the time a lady in my church came up to me (after I had told my story in a group) and said "what is your son's name, I will pray for him". I was overcome with gratitude that someone would do that. Now I can do it for others.

  2. In my occupation, I am gifted the opportunity to ponder life while working silently in a dark, quiet room. It is there, while working, that I get in most of my prayers. My blogger friends are always included :)

I will pray for your whole posse. Promise.

  3. Have you heard people say "I could FEEL your prayers?" There have been times when I could feel people praying for Keven I (and/or me) especially from the blogging community. I also pray for "the list" every day. I admit, after working for a Christian ministry for most of Keven's lifetime (16 years) I became bitter towards God and prayer and doubted that "it worked" or that "He cared" about us. But because of the people I've met in the last year, right here in Blogland, my faith has been restored. You are one of those precious people that has helped heal my bitterness. Thank you.

  4. I've already said a prayer for all of you!! Your post hit me - because I saw my son tonight and asked him if he knew that people all over the nation were praying for him!

  5. I actually keep a written list and add to it as individuals surface in my world that need prayers. Your sponsor and her husband are added to my list.

  6. I have actually wondered the same thing, but sometimes I can actually feel the prayers heading our way. So I am a believer...for some it might just be a social response but for some it is real.

PS...I added you to my Blog roll (if thats alright) and I am sending double prayers to Heather but I have to include you too!

  9. Those "weird" phone calls are so familiar. And as messed up as my/your daughter sounds, they still are trying to connect in some way - - - so, I think that is good, and reason for hope. I heard from my daughter a few days ago - and even though the call left much to be desired, I was able to hear her voice and tell her I loved her. It's all I can do for her right now,
